All year long, people who come to Fargo-Moorhead find a warm reception and a great time. No matter what, the people here are always warm, always friendly and always ready to welcome those who visit.
The following stories are actual examples* of the warmth of Fargo-Moorhead. We think they show that Fargo-Moorhead has a unique, welcoming spirit that you can't find anywhere else.

Just to let you know we had stayed in Fargo-Moorhead for the weekend and our stay in Fargo-Moorhead was exceptional. The city is clean, safe, and a joy to drive around and visit. It has an excellent set-up for shopping and restaurants. Our accommodations were reasonably priced - but the people of Fargo made the trip worthwhile.
While shopping at one of the local stores the cashier was so friendly and polite and a joy to talk to while I waited in line. I stopped at a bank hoping they could exchange some Canadian money for me and although she said they no longer provide that service she didn’t leave me stranded and exchanged it anyway. The people in the shops were courteous and helpful and paid attention to my order. The restaurants were outstanding and provided so much food – and good food at great prices!
But be proud of your young adults. I was so impressed by the young adults respect and courteousness to us – I accidentally bumped into a young man around 19 yrs old as I was shopping, and expecting to be “told off” he actually turned around and said “ oh I’m sorry – excuse me.”
What a wonderful city and what a wonderful group of people that live in it. I only come from Winnipeg, which itself is a small city – but so much of the politeness, respect, and pride in our homes, city and neighbors has long been lost.
Thank you for a wonderful weekend. I hope one day we can return to stay longer!

I have never written a "fan" letter to a city but I just have to tell you how impressed I was with the friendliness of everyone we encountered on our recent stay in Fargo. My husband and I were both so impressed!!! If we asked directions or where to find something people were ready to help. Thank you thank you!!!!! We really appreciated all the kindness and helpfulness.

My wife and I rode to our hotel by the airports shuttle and the Fargo Moorhead Visitors Bureau was right next door, we went to look around and decided on the mall. Noticing we didn't have a car one of the workers offered to drive us to the mall. My wifes feet were so thankful!! Thanks Fargo/Moorhead. We can't wait to come back.

I updated Fargo and North Dakota for Lonely Planet's guidebook to the USA in 2001. I arrived the day the CVB was launching a new tourism campaign -- the same day, sadly, Fuji Film declared Fargo the 'least photogenic city' in the country. No one was phased, and I quickly saw what Fuji was missing: the people. I had a great time in Fargo, talking with people at the visitors center, in a downtown cafe by the old theater and across the river in Moorhead. I'm a believer in Fargo-Moorhead.

I have been visiting the area every summer since I was a young boy. People are so nice, always willing to help. What a fantastic region, thanks Fargo!
